Sports injuries are facts of life for many of us, whether we work out at a gym, run, or play weekend ball. They may slow us down but few will really end a “career” in a much-loved activity. And they shouldn’t.
Seven Injuries TT TARGET TAPE® Treats and Prevents
Think back to the sports injuries you’ve had. Most likely, they were one of these seven WebMD says are the most common:
- Ankle sprain
- Groin pull
- Hamstring strain
- Shin splints
- ACL tear in the knee
- Repetitive injury in the knee
- Tennis Elbow
These also happen to be injuries that can be relieved with proper application of TT TARGET TAPE, a high-quality kinesiology tape used by athletes around the world.
We know that you’re glancing back to #2: groin pull. TT TARGET TAPE can be applied anywhere on the body, but it works best and lasts longest where there isn’t hair. Groin injuries are relieved by treating the inside of the thigh. If you’re willing to shave, you can use the tape.
Why are Strains and Sprains So Common in Sports?
Strains and sprains are much more common than breaks and fractures and we’re certainly thankful for that! Our bones are well-protected from injury by muscles, tissues, and protective gear used in contact sports.
In addition, just moving the body does a lot to strengthen bones. That’s because a lot of movement is weight-bearing, which causes new bone tissue to form, says the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHHD). Physical activity that keeps you on your feet is the most effective way to encourage bone tissue to develop because your feet and legs are supporting the whole body.
The stronger the bones, the more resistant they are to breaks. Add in padding to the most vulnerable areas—head, shoulders, shins—and you’re giving the body a fighting chance to resist even violent contact.
Think about it. It’s pretty rare for even a football player to suffer a broken bone. Sprains, tears, and strains are far more common.
It’s those front-line defenders–muscles, tissues, and ligaments–that absorb the brunt of most workouts, races, matches, and tournaments. Use kinesiology tape like TT TARGET TAPE to buttress other protective equipment by adding additional support to the legs, arms, abdomen, and back.

How to Prevent Common Sports Injuries
You probably know where you are most vulnerable to injury. Chances are, you’ve already had an injury in a couple of areas you know need a little more care.
Use TT TARGET TAPE to give these areas extra support. Apply it before you start your usual warm-up.
Warm-up exercises like stretching and light jogging get the blood flowing to those areas; our kinesio tape boosts this by gently lifting the skin to provide a little extra space for blood and other fluids while supporting the area.
It’s also a good idea to exercise consistently to prevent injuries. The more you condition your body, the better it will resist injury, including those from accidents off the field.
